Meet Coach burkhalter
Chris has spent years coaching youth baseball on the northeast side of Houston, working with players at both the rec and travel level. His coaching philosophy is built on Attitude, Effort, and Respect — developing players as competitors, and as people, on and off the field.
Attitude, Effort, and Respect turn raw talent into real competitors. That philosophy is bigger than any single roster — it shapes how practices are planned, how players are developed individually, and how a program should be run, period.
What we play for
Attitude
The one thing every player controls, every single day. Energy, coachability, and a positive edge are non-negotiable — everything else is built on top of it.
Effort
Talent gets a player noticed. Effort is what gets them better. We chase max effort on every rep — in the cage, on the bases, in the field, every practice.
Respect
For the game, for teammates, for coaches, for umpires, for parents & their teachers. Respect is how a young player becomes the kind of teammate every roster wants.
Fall 2026 9U Travel Team
Coach Burkhalter is fielding a new 9U travel team based out of New Caney, Texas, launching Fall 2026. The roster is being built around the BMP Baseball philosophy: players who compete with the right attitude, bring consistent effort, and represent the program with respect on and off the field. We will have structured practice plans and real, individual player development, not win-at-all-costs coaching philosophies like the many teams in the area.
He is building a baseball family of core players and parents who can enjoy the game and watch their athletes continuously improve.
